Today let's talk about marketing internationally via the internet. Today I'm going to offer you three tips for making your online marketing efforts more far reaching. And by far reaching, I mean international.
- Translate your website. Or, if not your whole website, translate a document that highlights important information about you, your organization and what you can offer to an international business looking to locate in your area. Indy Partnership does this: visit their website and click on a flag to see.
- Do some translated search engine optimization. If you really want to reach out to an audience in a different language, try optimizing your site for search engines in said other language. Panama Pacifico does this for their Spanish website.
- Do your research. If there is a particular overseas location you are targeting (China? South America?) research them: what's important to them? What websites do they frequent? What are the best ways to reach out to them online? For example, China has its own social networking sites and South America may be reached easiest through the Spanish search engine sites.
You have access to the world through these online channels. Make sure you're taking advantage and targeting the locations, industries and prospects that make sense for your location.
