Google Says Goodbye to Internet Explorer 6

Google recently announced that it will stop supporting Internet Explorer 6 (as well as a number of other older browser versions: Chrome 3 and Firefox 2 included) on March 1st of this year. In order to deliver better, more technologically advanced projects, they have to move on to the newer browsers, which support newer programming.

In this article about Google's decision, the author points out that not only is Google finished with Internet Explorer 6, but Microsoft itself (the creator of IE6) is encouraging users to upgrade their browsers and says that it will halt support of the browser in 2014. Facebook, YouTube and Twitter are also hoping for IE6 to die its long overdue death.

What does this mean for you? If you're an IE6 user, I recommend upgrading your browser. You can download IE8 or the latest versions of Firefox or Chrome online.
