Atlas client, Playground Destination Properties Inc., the Intrawest real estate sales arm in Mammoth Lakes, California, was excited to see that a recent USA Today article was published to laud the merits of Mammoth. Merits that include higher elevations than their Tahoe competitors and stabilizing prices. One of Playground's key properties in Mammoth -- the luxurious Westin Monache -- earned a mention (and a photograph, and a listing) in the article:
"Southern California may be world-famous for its surfing. But come winter, thousands of residents throw boards into their cars and skip the waves for a five-hour drive north to the slopes at Mammoth Mountain Ski Area in the Eastern Sierra, near the Nevada border.
At a whopping 3,500 acres with 28 lifts, Mammoth is one of the nation's largest ski resorts, and with a peak elevation of just over 11,000 feet, it's higher than its Lake Tahoe-area competitors. Yet until recently, it had been off the radar for most U.S. skiers."
