Understanding How EDO’s Make a Difference in Their Community
This year’s edition is a follow-up to last year’s inaugural HPED white paper, which marked the debut of both High Performance Economic Development, and the industry’s first-ever benchmarking database.
For the past year and a half, we’ve been able to share the principles of HPED with countless communities and economic development professionals. As a result, we have learned much about how EDO’s around the world are working to make an impact in their communities.
This year we had more than 200 communities (from 40 states and four countries) complete the benchmark study. From that data we were able to classify and rank each entity based on several common factors. Ultimately we were able to determine which organizations were most successful when it came to conversations tracked, jobs announced and capital investment announced.
Atlas will be presenting the Second Annual High Performance Economic Development white paper at this year’s IEDC Conference in Philadelphia, October 6 – 9, 2013. In addition, we will be recognizing the top performing communities and honoring them at our Second Annual Economic Development Olympics.
