It’s ever important that you know and understand your customers and potential customers, and continue researching these groups over time. Realizing the needs of your target audience(s) is key – after all, without satisfying the basic necessities of those you wish to reach will render your efforts useless. Ask questions, design surveys, talk to leads, ask for feedback. Continue to tweak your approach, and stay ahead of the curve. And compile marketing team members who can do just that.

Needless to say, it’s integral that you perform for your customers, but even greater is that you can deliver, via analytics and metrics, the performance of a given agenda. Pulling together those folks who can decipher what strategies work, what channels don’t work, and everything in between will build a foundation for a proper analytics infrastructure – an infrastructure where you can measure initiatives, and subsequently, improve upon marketing efforts as a whole.
