A couple days ago, one of our partners and website clients (DCI) published their study on Twitter use within the tourism industry. They've picked, based on a variety of criteria, their list of "tweet elite"--those place marketers who are using Twitter to its best potential.
It's a great bit of research for place marketers (whether you are tourism, real estate or economic development), offering tidbits on what makes good social media marketing and pointing you in the direction of some who are doing it well.
Since the study is only focused on tourism, I'll also be, in the next few days, bringing to your attention a few economic development tweeters who are doing well in their fields. Obviously my research isn't quite so extensive as what went into this white paper, but I think I can give you a few good role models for what economic development twitter use should look like. Watch for that coming soon.
